The ridge axis that was to our west yesterday is pretty much overhead and that will bring what likely will be the hottest day of this heatwave. The heat continues Friday. As we head through the 4th of July weekend, a series of short waves will flatten the ridge and that will allow for a better chance for showers and storms Saturday and Sunday, however neither day will be washouts. Just scattered hit and miss type activity. A cold front heads our way Monday with another chance for showers and storms. It remains quite warm behind this front on Tuesday, but not as extreme and humidity will be lower.
