Unsettled conditions thru midweek…

Partly cloudy skies and a bit more humid today, with highs in the middle 80s. There will be a risk for isolated to scattered thunderstorm activity this afternoon and evening, which look to be the pulsing variety with a low shear environment in place, but could be locally strong in a few spots as the pulsers are in their short-lived ramp-up stage.

A strong shortwave will approach from the Eastern Great Lakes region Monday night, and will affect our region in the Tuesday-Wednesday time period. There is a risk for heavy rain in this period with the low moving very slowly, trapped under a block well to the north of the system. Flash flooding is a growing concern, and we will monitor closely this week. A leftover shower possible Thursday yet until this system pulls away, then a dry end to the week and start to the weekend. A cold front brings scattered thunderstorms on Sunday.
