Ocean City, MD and DE Beaches Forecast

Beach forecasts are updated weekly on Thursdays prior to an upcoming weekend throughout the summer months, from Memorial Day through Labor Day (seasonal)

Marine Forecast Discussion

With Labor Day weekend upon us, this is the FINAL beach forecast for the 2025 season, and these forecasts will resume prior to Memorial Day weekend 2026

Forecast: The forecast period begins mostly sunny with seasonably warm conditions. A dry cold front on the lead of a reinforcing trough will cross the region Friday night, which will set up a mostly sunny Labor Day holiday weekend. Temperatures and humidity levels will be more comfortable in the middle 70s for the remainder of the week, then as more of an onshore flow develops Tuesday and Wednesday, more clouds enter the picture with a mix of sun and clouds expected. No organized precipitation is expected over the upcoming week.

Tropical concerns: No tropical threats are expected within the next 7-10 days.

Marine: Seas currently feature approximately 2-3 ft. wave heights with an easterly swell, and a dominant period of 7-9 seconds. Wave heights will generally remain at lower levels with a low rip current risk through the holiday weekend, and then will increase a bit Tuesday and Wednesday as a system lurking offshore creates higher swells. Thunderstorms can provide localized rough boat and beach conditions higher than wave heights indicated, and you should monitor statements issued by the National Weather Service forecast office in Wakefield, VA for the latest marine advisories. At present time, thunderstorm activity is largely not expected in the week ahead. Ocean water temperatures will continue to run near seasonal average for this upcoming week in the lower to middle 70s.
