Daily Forecast Discussion

Partly sunny skies start today. Then as an area of low pressure moves to our west it will push a warm front towards our region. As it does clouds will increase and we'll see scattered showers developing tonight. The warm front moves north of us tomorrow and we'll have some sunshine with isolated afternoon thunderstorms possible. A cold front heads our way Saturday with a wave of low pressure in front of it. This will bring showers much of the time and depending and how many breaks of sun we might get, there could be a couple of thunderstorms with a low, but not zero, possibility of strong or severe weather. Then because we can't have nice things, an upper level low(ULL) will close off in the Ohio Valley. This will bring us south to southwesterly flow of moist air in the mid and upper levels while the surface the flow turns more easterly. Because the ULL is closed off it won't be moving anywhere anytime soon. As a result, there is a prolonged possibility of scattered showers into much of next week. With these types of systems it rarely rains all the time. There will be times there's showers around and times it's not raining and even times when the sun breaks out. But the threat of unsettled weather will be with us until that ULL opens up and lifts out.
