Pleasant temperatures expected through midweek… holiday weekend looks very warm and summerlike…

Sunshine and a few clouds on Tuesday as high pressure moves in, and a northwesterly breeze will keep it feeling refreshing. Highs will reach the 70° mark, so still warm, just not as warm as it has been the past couple of days. Winds will gust to 25mph at times during the day.

Wednesday we expect partly cloudy skies with increasing temperatures into the middle 70s. A warm front on the outer periphery of a strong ridge building in the SE US could provide a few showers Wednesday night, then partly to mostly cloudy Thursday. Late day showers and thunderstorms are possible that will continue into part of Thursday night. By late week, the ridge will expand northeastward, and we will start to feel the effects of that ridge on the NE periphery on Friday, and that likely carries into the holiday weekend. Very warm and summerlike conditions with a late day thunderstorm possible both weekend days, but it is likely one day or the other. There is currently model disagreement about which day that is, so we left isolated (30%) chances on both days for a PM thunderstorm until that is sorted out. 80° or better is expected Friday and Saturday, then middle 80s on Sunday. Memorial Day Monday is back to partly cloudy skies and lower 80s for highs.
